Notch Space 2.0 is our biggest update yet. The notch now comes with a Dock of its own, one-click window layouts, Magic tools for anything you copy or drop, and a lot more speed.

It builds on the Notch Pet release (1.1.12) and the Morning widget from 1.1.10, both covered below.

Download the free trial from the download page. Existing installs pick it up through Sparkle, and lifetime license holders get it included.

The Notch Space Dock

Turn it on and Notch Space copies your current macOS Dock layout, hides the system Dock, and gives you a Dock that does more:

  • Live tiles: Now Playing and Pomodoro cards with controls, System Stats rings, a Dot Clock, and your saved Workspaces
  • Folder stacks with the same Magic menu as the clipboard (compress, resize, convert, ZIP)
  • Minimized windows, running and recent apps, and notification badges
  • Dock profiles you can switch from the Dock itself
  • Your look: bottom, left or right, Dark Glass, Notch Black or Clear Glass, icon size and spacing, and auto-hide
  • Multi-display: main display, a specific display, or follow your cursor like macOS

Turn it off and your original macOS Dock settings come straight back, even after a crash.

Window Layout

Pick the apps you want and arrange them in one click: Side by Side, Three Columns, Top & Bottom, Main + Stack, Wide Center, or smart layouts like Code Focus, Research, Design & Preview and Chat Sidebar. Got more than one screen? Spread Across Displays puts each app on its own.

Minimized, hidden, full-screen and other-desktop windows are brought into the layout for you, and there's an Undo if you change your mind.

Clipboard & File Magic

Do more with whatever you copy or drop, without opening another app:

  • Compress images to shrink file size
  • Convert images and files to other formats
  • Resize images in one click
  • Magic actions for quick text and image transformations

Right-click files in the Drop Zone or a Dock folder stack for the same menu.

Connected Device HUD

AirPods, keyboards, mice and other Bluetooth devices now show their battery levels right in the notch.

Apple Reminders sync and battery stats

  • Your Notch Space to-dos sync both ways with Apple Reminders. Turn it on in Todo settings.
  • System Stats can now show battery details, switchable in settings.

Workspaces, upgraded

Workspaces open noticeably faster, restore Chrome and other Chromium tabs and profiles correctly, and you can now open just the apps you pick from a saved workspace.

Meet your Notch Pet

If you skipped 1.1.12: your notch has a pet. It lives in a garden that follows the time of day, live weather and holidays, gives gentle heads-ups (meetings, missed messages, low battery, a hot Mac, a messy Downloads folder), naps beside you as a focus buddy, sings along to lyrics, wears 27 unlockable outfits, and plays Basket Toss, Fishing and Hide & Seek. You can even take selfies together. In 2.0 your pet gets smarter, with helpful tips based on your files. Everything stays on your Mac.

Faster everywhere

  • No more lag when pasting or scrolling clipboard history
  • Faster app icons, file thumbnails and music artwork
  • Smoother animations and lower resource use across Music, Widgets, Pomodoro, File Organizer, Expense Tracker and Pet

Fixes

  • Correct battery percentages for more Bluetooth devices
  • Dragging multiple files from the Drop Zone works again
  • Various stability and visual fixes throughout the notch
